Inspired by the feeling of urban energy, expressed through a choreographed alchemy of colour. Drawing from a lived and common experience of being paused at the traffic lights. Bold in colour, this painting probes the connection between everyday life and my local environment.
Focusing on the abstract qualities of simplified forms, colours and expressive lines reimagined. A moment paused.
I wanted to create a tension between reality and artistic expression.
By revisiting this painting, I was able to reconsider new materials and bring about a new perspective. The original context has been altered, but the conceptual and emotional power has not diminished.
The flexibility of the imagination brings with it a sense of joy and the theatre of an ecosystem.
