Refuge and Relaxation
Painted nearly a decade ago, this work on canvas reminds me of the love we still hold for outdoor Dining in Melbourne.
I was particularly interested in the relationship between the outdoor café area and the proximity to the road. The time was late afternoon when the light seemed almost surreal.
The Turtle Cafe has changed Since this artwork was painted almost a decade ago. The photo is a recent view showing the difference.

Today there are larger tables and more protective outdoor frame barriers. We await the footpath opening, where we can sit once more and enjoy the local offerings.
The footpath in Melbourne has certainly become a dominant economic ‘territory’ and a profound transformation in character.
