Beverley Pinder Portrait
A revisit of Beverley Pinder’s Diptych Portrait right-hand panel painted in 2014 and re-emerged and reconstructed 2021 through the use of saturated colour.

Artist Statement

This portrait of Beverly was painted in 2014 during her re-election as a councillor at the City of Melbourne. This portrait painting was part of a diptych exhibited at the Hilton Hotel in South Wharf and now renamed Pan Pacific Hotel.

The diptych portrait (244 X 122 cm.) also was part of an article in the Age Newspaper in 2015, “Two of Us”, interviewed and written by Lawrence Money.

The diptych made its way to a private residence in South Yarra as a loan rental from the hotel exhibition.

Currently, and back in my possession after a few years, I have decided to revisit the right-hand panel of the diptych with an emphasis on colour saturation. It is vivid, intense and character enriching.
