This scene created for me a vision that captivated my imagination. In anticipation of a celebration sprinkled with some wonder and amusement, perhaps? The Colour sets the festive atmosphere.
As we practice social distancing or quarantining at home, celebrating a birthday can be the bright spot in a time of bleak news stories and uncertainty.
Inspired by Henri Matisse’s “Still Life with Purro” I & II, from 1904, the artist painted two versions of the same composition.
The compositions are identical, but the style is entirely different. It is an opportunity to rethink the composition and change them to give them new life. Creating change through a different approach.
