Local urban character in Middle Park
In a narrow urban street against a backdrop of an old weatherboard house, a tree and a scooter take centre stage — a performance in colour.
Inspired by Mondrian’s geometric relationship between line and colour. The title ‘borrowed’ from one of his earlier figurative painting.
This painting is composed of black lines and primary colours. A preoccupation with the urban environment transforming ordinary, everyday subjects into a dramatic arena. The inclusion of tone creates an exuberant result. My local urban environment created as a new zone of aesthetic inspiration, it’s urban soul uncovered through texture, line, colour and shape.
