Agile and energetic, fairies in the world of the imagination and folktales have the magical powers to protect humans from harm.
This scene was originally set in my local shopping village in Armstrong Street Middle Park.
The fantasy of fairies in this urban setting gives expression to reality and resonates with symbolic meaning. Fairies are often associated with plants and protectors of mother nature. I wanted the imagery to create a sense of hope. With this in mind, I have unleashed these mythical fairy creatures with an explosion of colour. It is a visual and imaginative opportunity to restore our connection to nature within our urban realm.
