An urban oasis on the corner street, a painting on canvas, was created nearly a decade ago. Revisiting this location today under the current lockdown in Melbourne is a reminder Of togetherness.
A small isolated fertile area in the midst of an urban corner. A place of refuge and relaxation.
I was interested in the urban oasis-like corner where plants surrounded the tree-like umbrella canopies. It was a time when we met friends, colleagues and neighbours. A time for relaxation, social contact, entertainment and leisure. Under the umbrellas, awaiting the impulse of “being together”. A social place we now miss.
