Urban Contours May/December 2024

17 May 2024 – 31 Dec 2024
Part of my art practice involves a non-rectangular painting approach that celebrates perceptual tensions between the internal pictorial structure and its bounding shape. In these works, I delve into real space by overcoming behind-the-frame illusionism.

Artworks in Exhibition

Based on my previous sketches, each shape is cut out and shaped by an electric router.

When the rectangle is removed, the space around each new shape is observed, defining the area surrounding each form.

When the rectangular sides are removed, space relies on the interplay between the outside edges and the inner composition.
