Inspired by a Greek mosaic from Pella, 4th century BC (Pella Archaeological Museum).Dionysus is the mythical and poetic symbolic character as a guardian reclaiming the power of urban nature.
Dionysos appears in my local urban space as a guardian reclaiming the power of nature. A protector of every single tree on the nature strip. Here, I create a connection between myth, art and local nature.
The rhythm of colour creates movement. Balance and tension between bright tones, shapes, lines, reality and the imagination tap into the deeper urban environmental roots.
